- surface work (e.g. paving of roads, motorways or bridges with asphalt, concrete, stone)
- construction of airfield runways
- construction of rough, unpaved mountain bike pathways or trails
This type excludes:
Specialized construction works carried out by subcontractors for contractors whose activities fall under Divisions 41 or 42 should be classified under Division 43.
Use 421100 for road construction in the private sector and public infrastructure projects. If the activity involves road maintenance (activiities such as sweeping or clearing ice and snow) in the public sphere, classify it under 812309.
