These intermediation activities can be carried out on digital platforms or through non-digital channels (including face-to-face, door-to-door, telephone, mail, and so on). The fee or commission can be received from either the client or the provider of the passenger transport service. Revenue for the intermediation activities can include other sources of income (for example, revenues from the sale of advertising space).

This type includes:

• operation of online ride-sharing platforms that allow passengers to book a ride
• provision of intermediation services for the purchase of land, water or air transport for passengers
• brokerage of passenger seats in ships and aircraft space

This type also includes:

• intermediation of transportation by radio taxi services, without providing transport
• fee-based reservation services for passenger transportation
