Business focus: Big banks are economically important banks, which, in principle, offer all types of business, including in particular investment banking (capital market transactions, securities trading, money market transactions, financial engineering, securities lending, consulting services for company mergers and acquisitions as well as the implementation of such operations). Big banks are part of a financial group, as defined in art. 3c of the Banking Act.
Geographic scope of activities: The financial groups to which the big banks belong operate globally and have a network of branches and subsidiaries around the world
